The Party Shop History

For 80 years the Party Shop has been in the same downtown location, 413 N. Jefferson St., in the heart of Huntington. During World War II it was called Schidler's Coffee Ranch and ground its own coffee and made peanuts into peanut butter. It has always centered around candy-- added cards and party goods until the current owners brought coffee back into the picture and took paper products out of the mix. The popcorn -caramel cooker has been in the front window for 50 years and caramel apples, corn and homemade turtles are now made weekly all through the year.

The current owners, Bill and Marcia Zimmer, were for years the Party Shop's best turtle customers. When the Party Shop's eighty year old former owner decided to close up shop, they were broken hearted. Every vacation included turtle tasting with great disappointment. Nobody had quite that combination of homemade caramel, fresh large pecans, and delicious chocolate that the old Party Shop offered. So the Zimmers bought the company, fired up the copper kettle, and revived that special unique flavor of the Party Shop turtle. Order your turtles now by calling 260-355-0142 and you'll enjoy that flavor that the Zimmers found so addicting.
